Allan Reid Scholarship

Allan and Janet Reid of the Reid Malley Foundation are both graduates of the University of Melbourne and consider their education to have been the fundamental basis on which their distinguished careers were built. They are supporting an annual scholarship in the hope that it will enable the recipient the means to pursue exciting opportunities in the engineering field. The Reid Malley Foundation is named partly in honour of family members lost in World War II.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to be:

  • an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • enrolled in any 300-point engineering Masters course

Value

In 2024, one scholarship valued at approximately $5,000–$7,000  to be paid over the remainder of the recipient’s degree. The exact value of the scholarship will be dependent on the remainder of the recipient's degree.

Selection criteria

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Academic merit
  • Demonstrated financial need- which will be assessed via the personal statement and submission of the FEIT Student Financial Assessment form
  • The strength of a personal statement outlining:
    • your passion for Engineering
    • your career aspirations
    • impact of the scholarship funds
