Lochrie Scholarship in Engineering

This scholarship is open to graduate research students within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

  • be an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident
  • be enrolled in a higher degree by research in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology
  • be able to demonstrate financial need, through the 2024 FEIT Student Financial Assessment form, and how the funds will be used to benefit your research

Value

In 2024, up to two scholarships are available. Each scholarship is valued at approximately $10,000 per year for the remainder of the degree (not exceeding three years).

Selection criteria

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Academic merit, assessed via the personal statement and supporting documents (CV, most recent progress report (where applicable), peer-reviewed publications, supervisor’s statement) to evaluate the strength of the applicant’s research; and
  • Financial need, which will be assessed via the personal statement and submission of the 2024 FEIT Student Financial Assessment form

Preference will be given to applicants pursuing research in the fields of civil engineering, infrastructure engineering or areas related to civil engineering and able to demonstrate financial need
